Red Haze

Just got my CV1 unpacked and hooked up.  There's a red haze that is at the top of the viewing area - especially when there is anything with a dark screen.  Is this happening to anyone else or has my unit got a problem?

check pictures in this thread. Maybe you will find something similar on your lenses.

Thanks for the lead, but I dont think that's it.  This is not a glare or flare, but it looks like all the black of the actual screen has a bit of a red artifact.  Seems like a screen issue - not a lens one.

I have seen it too. Only seems to be in one eye though and only on really dark screens. Not sure if it was an artifact of loading because I do not see it in games.

This is (sadly) not unusual. It doesn't happen on all units, and some may have the issue worse than others, but it will likely be be there to some extent. Even my personal unit has the effect on one of the screens. Honestly, it's only really noticeable on black loading screens and I wouldn't say that it affects playing games at all. Best to just enjoy playing the games and not focus on it too much. Thanks.

Oddly enough, I only have his in my right lens.  When the screen goes truly dark its odd, cause my right eye still gets a bit of light while my left is in the dark.

@cybereality Surely ... its not a Jobsiean  "You are holding it wrong" ... when my rift arrives and It has a similar or other defect will there be a unit replacement policy in place?

I'm really hoping to eventually get a replacement unit for mine that's having a similar issue. The eye strain it's causing in my left eye is unreal, and my buddies doesn't have it at all 😞
