Red dots on oculus display

All of a sudden i’m seeing 2 red dots one in each eye. They’re semi transparent and they show red on white areas but on darker areas you can see a bit more darker colour instead of the red colour. Why is that? What might be causing it?

Have you left your rift in the sun by any chance?

Yup, you left it in the sun and fried the screen.

Though that usually shows up as more of a streak due to the sun's movement.  You might have only done it for a minute.

Possibly with the right tools you could replace the screen with a new one.
