I'm currently having a problem on any app referral links. It keeps showing me an Invalid Link page regardless of who send me a referral link. I've already tried unlinking my Meta account out of my Facebook account and have tried using private/incognito browser to accept the referral link. Unfortunately, they still gives me Invalid Link page.
Not that I know of. Ive tried a myriad of different things and it just doesn't work. I can confirm it works for some because I saw someone post their app referrals reward from someone using it and others said the discount showed in their cart. There is some issue happening for certain accounts that's causing them to become invalid. Which is wild because I used one not even 2 months ago to buy ghosts of Tabor.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of an A/B test Meta is running with us being assigned to the test group. They could be trying to determine how app purchase rates and revenue are influenced by having access to these promo codes.
It would explain why we suddenly can't access promo codes while others still can and why support isn't in a hurry to find a solution.
Not working for me. Not sure what you mean by an update with the PC software? From what I can tell, when I use a referral link, it just goes out to the web browser. I tried clearing my browser cache and it still didn't work. At least when I use a link, it doesn't go through the Oculus app on my pc. Tried on my phone and it still gave me invalid link as well.
Yea the PC software doesn't change anything - it's still not working for me either. Ive done everything except changing my account settings in some form but I'm just going to wait and see if it gets fixed first
We have had this error for 1 month now, there are more and more users with this problem and from meta to each one we are given a different reason but it does not fix the problem. Meta has decided that its users are not the same, some have offers, others do not, some can use referrals and others cannot. The truth is I've been aiming for a month and a half and I don't recommend it to anyone.
They tell us it's fixed. Can I use referrals? No, then don't laugh at me and tell me that it's already fixed.
Hello everybody! I noticed that this issue has been popping up for a lot of y'all. We did some digging and got word from the team that the Meta Store is evaluating some changes to the App Referral program.
Due to this, some user groups will be randomly unable to access App Referrals. However, these groups change frequently, so if you can't get the referral to work now, don't worry, as you will be able to soon. They also confirmed that the invalid links you all are getting is to be expected while this evaluation is happening. I also want to recommend keeping an eye out for similar options from your group in the future.

I observed that fellow moderator @ShiroTenko has responded to a few of you already. However, I wanted to create this post and designate it as a solution to ensure that everyone is aware of the information provided by the engineers. While I understand that this is not a solution, it is the best way to guarantee that all users can easily view the post.
The engineers are evaluating changes to the app referrals program. As a result, some randomly selected groups of users may periodically not be able to access app referrals.
These user groups change frequently, and if an offer is not currently available to you that is available to others, this means that offer is not being given to your group at this time. Please keep an eye out for similar options in your group in the future.
