I'm currently having a problem on any app referral links. It keeps showing me an Invalid Link page regardless of who send me a referral link. I've already tried unlinking my Meta account out of my Facebook account and have tried using private/incognito browser to accept the referral link. Unfortunately, they still gives me Invalid Link page.
Well folks this is no surprise. I have started communicating with the developers of some of the top games. They, themselves are completely unaware of this situation. Meta start listening to me. This is going to get bigger and bigger. It is ironic by putting us in a group that these companies, as well as your own profits margins. This issue IS NOT SOLVED. PLEASE REOPEN THIS THREAD. Contact me personally and I can show you the several emails I have received from developers, game studios etc....
Unfortunately, this has started to happen to me. Any game, any app, any referral link comes up saying "Invalid Link - This link is no longer valid or has been entered incorrectly."
Worked fine about a month ago but now constantly getting Invalid link.
So disappointing that Meta doesn't seem to care about this issue!
I just recently purchased a used Quest 2 and my referral links aren't working either. I'll be contacting meta as well and I suggest more people to do so.
I opened a ticket about this with Meta. They have just responded...
"Pertaining the error you experienced, it happened because we are evaluating changes to the App referrals program. As a result, some randomly selected groups of users may periodically not be able to access App referrals"
They gave me store credit and completely ignored the original point the ticket was opened (not being able to use referral links) and closed the ticket. Such a poor customer service experience!
Anyone who finds the thread because they have having the same issue, don't be fooled by the fact this has been marked as 'resolved'. It isn't resolved and Meta are completely ignoring it.
I am entering now in the world of vr I already watched some videos year ago and I am deciding to buy a Meta Quest 2 but before doing it I am trying all the referral link but same invalid link support did not help me at all, I guess when I buy the quest 2 I should send to people the link, seems Meta is doing some fake advertising I hope the team does something about this
i have been in contact with a few game developers, that had no idea this was happening. They mentioned they will discuss with meta. In the next development meeting .
I would ask anyone else to step forward and post on this thread. As I supplied them with is thread link and it will be brought up during that time. Thanks
