Release channel invite

Hello,

Our company has an application on Applab, and we send our clients release channel invites via the developer page.

However, for one client in particular, we are unable to send them the invite (we receive the error message 'We couldn't find any user with the email ___'). 

I asked the client to check that the email address in question was registered to the headset (I will refer to this one as email 1), but it turns out it that it was a different email address instead (I will refer to this one as email 2). As such, the user tried to add a new Meta account using email 1 to the headset, but she received a message saying, 'This email is already being used. This email is not available.'

Shouldn't this message indicate that the email has already been paired to a different headset, and if so, should I not at least be able to send the release channel invite? What other things can I ask our client to check?
