Hey there,
I am writing to share some feedback and a request regarding the Meta Quest 3's PC compatibility and performance optimization. While the Quest 3 offers an impressive standalone VR experience, the integration and usability with PC gaming via Link Cable could be significantly improved.
Currently, achieving optimal performance requires entering the Oculus Debug Tool to tweak several settings, such as resolution, bitrate, and ASW. Unfortunately, many of these settings reset each time I use the headset. This repetitive adjustment process is both time-consuming and frustrating, especially for users who frequently switch between standalone and PC modes within a household.
Given the growing number of PC VR users, I believe it is crucial to address this issue. Here are my specific suggestions:
Persistent PC Settings: Provide an option to save and automatically apply custom PC settings across sessions, eliminating the need to reconfigure them repeatedly.
Enhanced Optimization: Further optimize the Quest 3 for PC VR use to ensure a smoother and more user-friendly experience, with better default settings and fewer performance issues.
Prioritizing PC Users: While the Quest 3 excels as a standalone headset, PC users should not feel neglected. A seamless experience on both PC and standalone modes will make the device more versatile and appealing to a broader audience.
As someone who values the dual functionality of the Quest 3, I want to continue using it within my household, both for standalone gaming by family members and for PC VR gaming. However, if the setup process remains cumbersome and the performance suboptimal, I may have to consider other headsets that better meet my needs as a PC user.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I hope these improvements can be implemented in future updates to make the Quest 3 an even better choice for PC users.
