I am having literally the exact same problem as you right now and it is really frustrating. Let me know as soon as you have this solved because i really want to use mine fast.

As a long time Oculus user, I actually think their software is well done (: But it is a really large download. I bet much of it is home assets, instructional videos and other media.
Side note: the Oculus software is horrible. Really horrible. A 7.3gb download ever time I have to reinstall this stupid software to troubleshoot? Who's idea was that?
