(Resolved) Known Issue - V62/63 USB-C Debris/Water Warning

Star.Knight
Protege

v62 has a big problem with USB port sensor (found the very same issue on my Q3 and the one of my wife)... when used with an extension cable (even if it is a quality cable) from time to time star showing the debris-water warning message. Of course there is no debris or water, just a nasty software false alarm.

Is that related to this issue?

How do you know when you get a new version?

Also, it is nice to hear that you’re charging faster now, because it takes me about 4 hours right now to charge and sometimes IT will just stay at a certain percentage for 30 minutes or so. I’ve been planning on buying a bobo but not if it can’t charge while playing of course

How do you know when you get a new version?

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I did so many factory resets on v62/63, what's one more? heh. I'm also struggling with the scene setup recognizing all 4 walls of my room so maybe that will fix with a reset too.

I just happened to see be nearby it and see the light turn purple on the front. Otherwise, there's no notice, you just have to keep track of the current version number.

Yeah, big difference in charging time for me after v64 fixed my issue. I can play with the bobo battery and it will only drain the bobo while the headset stays at 100% full.

Hi @TheLegend27

I’m still getting the message while playing connected to a USB C Cable. The message showed up once or twice a day. But yesterday every 2 minutes.

my config:

the cable I’m using is this:

I’m on PTC so I’m not sure if I’m on the stable v64 version .

Oh! And this cable works very well on my Quest2

Thanks.

Well, on Youtube I suppose Mysticle might be able to shed more light to the public, though I am sure that the public who owns a Meta already knows about it, but the world at large probably should as well, get more attention from outside to make Meta realize this is a bigger issue and that their sales for these products could be at jeopardy.  I did once see a news article about it, though I found another one here:

https://community.oneplus.com/thread/1285338

As a company, they don't want their errors being made public because that means people won't buy their stuff, which makes them hurt financially.  Just a thought

My tests (on PTC versions):

Link App Version: 64.0.0.486.367

Quest3 Version: 64.0.0.484.370.585752815

Runtime Version: 64.0.0.480.368.585752889

OS Version: SQ3A.220605.009.A1

Cable used: Thunderbolt Cable

System:

  • Win 11
  • Asrock Z790 Taichi
  • Intel i5 13600k
  • RTX 4090 MSI Suprim X

Thunderbolt cable connected to one of the two motherboard's thunderbolt ports. Rated power is 60W. Tested on game Falcon BMS.

No luck, the debris message keeps popping up every 10-15 min.

I'm getting tired of this.
