v62 has a big problem with USB port sensor (found the very same issue on my Q3 and the one of my wife)... when used with an extension cable (even if it is a quality cable) from time to time star showing the debris-water warning message. Of course there is no debris or water, just a nasty software false alarm.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Cross-posting from another thread since I've posted here before.
I have had the issue since upgrading to v62.
I have enrolled in PTC on Quest3 and are now on v66 in the headset. PC App is not enrolled in PTC.
The issue persists. My workaround since the issue surfaced is that I can run on a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port on my motherboard that does not seem to provide much power. The battery drains, albeit slowly.
On my USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port that provides enough power for longer sessions I get the error, seemingly at random, but of course unplayable in multiplayer flight sim. On v60 this USB-port worked flawlessly.

It's also still a problem for me. Currently on v64 (since others have reported that updating to v65 has made it even worse) and has been a consistent issue since v62, no matter the combo of cables, batteries or chargers used.
I'm assuming it's gone quieter here because many (like me) have kinda given up on getting a response since it's been marked as "solved".

Hi Sunski
With respect I don't think many would have given up because it's marked as 'solved'....it's a relatively high value device after all.
Rather, I think many have either received replacement headsets that solve the issue (like me) or obtained a resolution through updates (by no means a universal fix).
Given the timeline of this headset's 'inception' into the market, is it correct to say that NONE are actually out of warranty? (in the UK it's 2 years).
If that's the case....and updates are NOT providing a solution......it's simple. Send it back!

Still ongoing since v62.

Hi,
I recently acquired a Quest 3 and have observed that the USB port debris sensor is extremely sensitive. Over time, this sensitivity appears to be increasing, which is quite concerning. Is this a common issue with the Quest 3? I am aware of other USB port-related problems, so I understand the importance of this feature. However, I am curious if others are still experiencing this issue, as it was supposedly addressed in a previous update.
Thanks
