[Resolved] - Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery only connects for a few seconds

Is anyone working on the Quest 3 elite battery issue?  It charges but won’t connect to the headset for more than a few seconds, meaning you cannot charge through the back port.

I wonder if anyone with the extended battery is working?   I think it's a reverse charge issue, I've heard about USB-C devices with batteries not negotiating power direction and doing a Reverse Charge..

I did a quick test and with the extended battery connected it drained the headset 6% with just running around settings and browsing internet.   without the extended battery it only drained 2% (about 6-10 mins each try)

I am in the same situation as you, but I am on my first strap. I am afraid to turn on my Quest 3 after installing the update I think caused all these issues.  I might be wrong.  If I do try the Quest 3, I will give an update on what happens.  I also can't charge the elite strap battery directly,  but it charges both batteries when plugged into the headset also. Crazy. I bought a power bank from Amazon in case to act as a back up battery,  but I still need a good quality strap and I would either keep what I have, which is the elite strap with battery and don't want to deal with trying to return it or I do return it and get just the elite strap and use this battery I bought that plugs into the Quest 3 directly.

Well well well… Yesterday it worked fine, elite + headset charged up to 100%, I was able to use both just fine, my Headset + Elite is now charging since 5 hours, headset is full but the elite isn‘t getting recognized anymore. All it does, it‘s charging the headset. But no dedicated elite symbol anymore that shows the % of it.

Restarted my headset (elite plugged in), restarted with no elite, plugged in the elite while being on home screen, nothing worked.

I don‘t even know how far the elite is charged… clicking the button, it simply shows orange.

I would recommend everyone with the problem to open an incident and get a ticket# so you can get updates.

The Bobo M3s are already out of stock.  😭

This isn't the "issue". Read the thread further. Also, how often are you presenting yourself in VR with the indicator that having both is "cluttered"? It's not like this icon is present in all things VR. You have to seek it out in the UI.

awww that seriously sucks. people have been waiting for it since launch. follow and turn on notifications for BoboVR on "X" so that way youll know the second they get back in stock. i was luckily able to grab mine this morning. ill be returning my second dead strap for a refund

I think you may find that the Bobo batteries are not high enough spec'd for the Q3.  The external packs need to be QC3/4 PD fast charge compatible and probably +20w output rated.  I have a couple of Romoss 10000mahr 30w packs I bought from Amazon earlier this year and they work fine with my Q3 as long as I use the correct output port (the type-c one in my case).

You can use the Q3 charge cable or these also work well;
