[Resolved] - Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery only connects for a few seconds

Is anyone working on the Quest 3 elite battery issue?  It charges but won’t connect to the headset for more than a few seconds, meaning you cannot charge through the back port.

I've been dealing with support on this as well. They run through their scripts like it's not a known issue.

I have nothing more to add to this conversation other than dealing with this issue has been the absolute worst support experience I’ve even had to deal with

i went over 30 days without a response to my ticket after several follow ups. Their chat support does everything in their power to get you off the chat and into an email, then nothing, no updates, no nothing.

i start to feel guilty because im losing my patience with dealing with their support team.

Meta are now sending me a third one. One reply said they knew all about the issue and it could take a few weeks before the fixed ones roll out, but my worry is the latest response sounds like they are shipping one now for me, and therefore may not be from the new batch.

Similar issue here, though the Elite Strap problem only seemed to come about with a replacement headset. Was fine with the originally purchased one.

Probably just coincidence that it decided to play up then, but support were very quick to respond through email on both contacts. Processed a RMA and will send out a replacement strap. Don't bother sending the old one back etc

Have the same thought about them potentially just sending out a problem unit, but the fact the replacement hasn't shipped out yet (24hrs+) might suggest they are waiting for a shipment. Hope so anyway.

Good news, for me and so hopefully for all of us...

My replacement connects great now, but the issue i have is that both batteries run down over 24 hours even with it turned off.

I now have to disconnect my Elite to save the battery in both HMD and strap.

same issue

I WhatsApp'd support 4 days ago, no reply, I emailed over a month and a half ago and have had no response for nearly a month now, after the suggestion they might send a replacement, asked for info, which I sent, pretty shocking...

I just got another response from support. They said they currently don’t have replacement units to send out and expect to begin receiving supplies in 2-4 weeks. It sounds like we won’t be seeing replacements any time soon. At least we can hope that means that when the replacements finally arrive, they shouldn’t have the same problems.

The running down of batteries when the strap is connected to the headset seems to be "normal". Mine lost 15-20% overnight. It seems to keep the headset in an awake state. Once I have a replacement I will just disconnect it after I used it.
