Been using Quest pro with airlink for 4 months now without any issues whatsoever.
After the headset was updated to V54 I'm having headset lag/connection issues on airlink.
Screen is stuttery at times when moving in my playspace or moving my head, the image gets laggy, choppy and black frames appear on the side of the screen oposite to where I'm moving my head.
Image quality has degraded significantly with lots of "artifacts".
This makes casual games like VR chat hard to play due to constant lag and stutter, games like Beat Saber are impossible to play.
I havent changed a single thing in my playspace nor my setup, router config is the same as when it was working, PC is the same, no update has been applied to any of this.
Any advice would be much appreciated as Im lost on what to do.
Just in case
Specs
CPU I9 12900k
32GB Ram
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080TI
Router: TP-link AX1500 Wifi 6 dedicated just to the headset.

I actually think the problem has something to do with audio device selection. I have noticed I can greatly affect the amount of lag and stuttering by switching audio outputs. It is still laggy to the point of totally unusable, but it drops by about 50% in Virtual Desktop. Airlink is total trash and absolutely does not work. This has to be a Quest issue because I have access to 4 types of competitive gaming PCs. This is absolutely awful. The stuttering is such a downgrade that I don't care what upgrades are made to Quest 2; anything less than having a v53-like experience in wireless PCVR mode is not going to cut it. Buy a Quest 3/Pro? LOL, never happening. Fix this problem, and I might consider it, but I have a v58 level of patience. If by then it isn't fixed we will look for an alternative to all Meta products, now and in the future.

Changing my router has fixed my issues. No problems using airlink or virtual desktop with new router. Went from RAX45 (Wifi6) to RAXE300 (Wifi6E).
My previous router worked flawlessly before, so i'm unsure what caused it to start having issues. It could've been a router update, or it just dying (i've noticed more coil whine from the router). I had other issues with the router such as 5ghz devices disconnecting randomly. I would find the headset had disconnected from wifi on standby too. I also had noticed airlink was unusable, but virtual desktop was playable. The problem manifested in Virtual Desktop by just having a lower fps. Games I used to play through Virtual Desktop now were struggling to reach 90 fps.
Just thought I would add my experience, maybe it gives an idea of something to try. If you have another router you can try, give it a shot.
I had tried everything from a PC clean OS install, Quest Pro/router factory reset, changing all kind of options in router and pc, removing all devices from network, you name it, etc.
Some of these changes did indeed help, or maybe it was placebo. It would work like it used to a couple of months ago, but would break eventually.

You know what's weird. The issue showed up right about the same time as they enabled Wi-Fi 6E on the quest pro. Always wondered that might have something to do with it. Like something they had to change to make Wi-Fi 6 work. And since quest two doesn't have Wi-Fi 6E it caused problems

That's actually what motivated me to try a new 6E router. Too much coincidence that wireless VR started having issues after those updates.
I guess we can't say 100%. All I can say is airlink and virtual desktop are working flawlessly now. Fortunately I was looking to upgrade anyway, but it sucks for those that can't upgrade and had previously working setups.

The PCVR stutter issues appear to be less visible on the Quest 3, but the best result I got for now is by using Virtual Desktop, both on Quest 2 and 3 it's working nicely.
Would be nice to see Air Link / Meta Link perform by default as good as it did before v54. Please at least copy whatever Virtual Desktop is doing to make it work better.

Airlink became unusable on my Quest 3. There is huge lags and quality is poor. Like a huge bitrate issue where it kinda works at 10MBs but as soon as I raise it, it everything goes south. Of course, my wifi connection is good (780MBs down) from the headet.
I've no issues with the Quest 2 so there is something obviously broken with the Quest 3.
I really hope Meta will fix the issue or I'll have to return the headset.

Same issue here.
I received my Quest 3 3 days ago and i was not able to get Airlink working without lagging. (bought a new wifi 6 Router to setup the best possible environment)
If i switch the wi-fi network from 160 MHZ to 80 MHz it gets better but it is stil far away from a enjoyable experience.

For Wifi 6, seems to work best for me with channel bandwidth 160 MHz and control channel 128. If my control channel is lower then performance is worse. Using Asus router.
