I am sick of this happening every time the devs roll out a new update.
Oculus app updated this evening, Quest Pro headset will no longer be detected via cable connection, only wireless.
Doesn't matter if I'm opted into PTR, or opt out and uninstall the new drivers that came along with this.
If anyone manages to get themselves out of this situation lemme know how ya did it!

I tried everything in that video and it's still a no go for me. When I look at my usb settings in the device manager it list it as a device descriptor error.

Followed the developer set-up video method suggested, and it worked for me without issues so far! My link cable is being recognized correctly and linking to my headset perfectly fine now.

Hey there, @Doeverse. Thanks for letting us know that you are having connection issues with your Meta Quest Pro and your PC. Having any sort of connection issues can certainly derail your VR plans, and we would like to help you with this. For us to do just that, can you please tell us the following?
Are you getting any error messages when connecting the link cable? If so, can you send us a copy?
Has this worked before?
Did you get any updates to any of your devices recently?
What troubleshooting have you done so we don't repeat anything?
Please let us know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to your reply.

yeah the developer mode thing isn't working for me. i'm not sure if it's due to my desktop app version (56.0.0.193.155) or what. this is the version i'm on while not opted into the beta

wth! THIS is the solution! did you not TEST THIS crap before releasing it! WHO would buy a $1000 device with this kind of support, lol, dont count on it!

exactly. literally the biggest vr company in the world yet lacks the basic efficiency and streamlining when developing their software. i'm buying a headset from a better company the first chance i get. we don't deserve this lack of care from Meta based on how much we've spent on their products

omg, you dont KNOW if its fixed? just checking? wth! ... solution: sign up for developer account requiring credit card and mfa!

Hey guys! I know there's some frustration with the issue at hand. Trust me, I would love nothing more myself than to hop back into Fallout VR but please remember to be respectful when expressing your concerns. The team is currently working on it, and we'll be checking in consistently for updates so it should hopefully be a matter of time.

Developer Mode (then toggle add USB connection or words to that effect) works with me on both V56.0.0193.155 and V57.0.0.238.153
May be worth trying it again?

WTF? Very frustrating. Of course they don't forget to give you the runaround first. No point in complaining really. They survey you every 10 minutes, but in the end they clearly do not care.
