[Resolved] - Quest Link cable connection to PCVR doesn't work after v57 update

I am sick of this happening every time the devs roll out a new update.

Oculus app updated this evening, Quest Pro headset will no longer be detected via cable connection, only wireless.

Doesn't matter if I'm opted into PTR, or opt out and uninstall the new drivers that came along with this.

If anyone manages to get themselves out of this situation lemme know how ya did it!

This worked for me!  Once I allowed a connection it looks like link is back up and running with the cable.  Thanks for this!

the youtube video tutorial link actually worked! Thanks so much!

I have a theory.  The Meta developers and QA all have their configurations set with dev mode enabled :).

It's a problem with the Oculus software. The last two updates have both been broken for the link cable 😞

EDIT: There's a workaround in the thread I've linked below that involves enabling USB connections via developer settings until Oculus is able to resolve this issue on their end.

https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Known-Issue-Quest-Link-cable-connection-to-PCVR-doesn...

I am having a slightly different issue with Oculus Link after I updated my headset. Whenever I enter Oculus Link mode, my headset constantly disconnects and reconnects by itself. When I entered Oculus Link mode, the edges of the screen would become distorted and black causing Oculus Link to freeze up. This never happened prior to the update. I am currently on v56.0.0.171.656.

Here is a link demonstrating my issue: https://youtu.be/EW_1GC21Qrw

The solution you posted didn't work as I already had those settings on. I also tried toggling them off and back on and nothing changed.

Thank you for your prompt response, @MetaQuestSupport.

Regarding your inquiries:

Are you encountering any error messages when connecting the link cable? If so, could you kindly share a copy with us?

Response: No, there are no error messages.

Has this setup worked previously?

Response: No, I am setting up a brand new Quest Pro.

Have you received any recent updates for your devices?

Response: I am up to date with the Oculus system version - 50065460051500330 and OS version - sq3a.220305.009.a1 on my Legion Pro laptop running Windows 11 Home, with the following specifications:

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Version: 10.0.22621 Build 22621
System Model: 82WK
System Type: x64-based PC
System SKU: LENOVO_MT_82WK_BU_idea_FM_Legion Pro 5 16IRX8
Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX, 2100 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date: LENOVO KWCN31WW, 09/02/2023
SMBIOS Version: 3.4
Embedded Controller Version: 1.31
BIOS Mode: UEFI
BaseBoard Manufacturer: LENOVO
BaseBoard Product: LNVNB161216
Nvidia: RTX 4070 GeForce
What troubleshooting steps have you already taken to avoid redundancy?

Response: I have performed basic troubleshooting steps such as cable replacement and restarting/resetting both devices. However, Airlink is working fine; the issue seems to be with the cable.

Note: I have also tested this on my other laptop, an MSI running Windows 11 Home with version 10.022621 Build 22621, featuring a 12th-gen i7 and an RTX T 3060. I encountered the same issue. Notably, I was able to use this laptop with my previous Quest 2 setup, which worked perfectly. Please advise on next steps."

I had the same problem this week. I turned the PTC on and it worked. now the rift made another update and now the ptc doesn't help. furthermore, it keeps teeling me I need to update the pc up (I did that 3 times in a row but after each restart the app keeps demanding a restart). this is so frustrating, I have a job to do with the the Rift and I can't connect after each stupid update

So did you try the USB Connection Dialog toggle?
