[Resolved] - Quest Link cable connection to PCVR doesn't work after v57 update

I am sick of this happening every time the devs roll out a new update.

Oculus app updated this evening, Quest Pro headset will no longer be detected via cable connection, only wireless.

Doesn't matter if I'm opted into PTR, or opt out and uninstall the new drivers that came along with this.

If anyone manages to get themselves out of this situation lemme know how ya did it!

It has nothing to do with whether you use an official cable or not.

I also don't use the official cable and have never done, but my headset is not detected since the update.

Also I think here are many people not using the official link cable and all orf them have this issue.

Beside that.....It's confirmed that is an software issue and the team is working on it.

Whilst I'm at it (having a moan that is) - why do we ALWAYS have to automatically download and update the Link software - how come most major software providers give users the option to

1) automatic download and update

2) download only - and wait to see if there are any issues in the wild

3) Don't bother to update

Yes, this is something I would appreciate pretty much.

The exact same situation happened to me and I talked to support 3 times, on the third time they just said that waiting is necessary. I was having the same thought of wanting to upgrade to the quest 3 as I had the 2 for almost 3 years now but I'm starting to consider the index as a better pcvr option

well ...... any news?

can connect so the oculus became useless for too long

considered buying oculus3 .. not anymore

I was in the same boat.. was going to buy the Quest 3 but why... if I can't connect via PC-Link then there is no purpose. I was hoping for slightly better resolution and performance. But it seems the only thing Meta is interested in is their HDM wireless games. I guess they felt if they weren't selling enough of them so cut the link to PC and force people to use Air-link. Well my air-link sucks, its laggy and has horrible resolution. I'll give my Quest 2 to my kids to destroy. They can play the silly wireless VR games still until the battery runs down 45 mins into it. Mark Suckerburg is just looking for a diversification for his money and another way to pull you into Facebook. Soon you'll be getting pop-up adds in your VR while you're trying to play.  I loved Oculus, they had a Mission to give you an unmatched experience at an affordable price with the Rift. Technology that proven. Meta has been a disappointment. I would like to see them prove me wrong.. Please prove me wrong

Any ETA on a fix?

Yup I’d bet they do and now they are sitting around scratching their butts wondering what the problem could possibly be.

My quest was connecting great for months and all of the sudden it stopped being able to connect to my PC. I hear the ping when I plug it in but the Occulus software doesn't recognize it.

So last week I noticed an update through the Quest app on my computer. when I went to connect to computer by the USB cable like I have the past 2 years, it says "searching for PC."  So I checked the internet, followed every step suggested but the one I couldn't find was "developer options>enable usb debugging" so I contacted support. She ultimately had me enable "public test channel" and it worked and I was able to connect back to the PC through USB link cable. That was sept. 8th. Tonight, sept 14th, I saw in the quest app there was an update 3 days ago and sure enough...can't connect with link cable. did all possible troubleshooting with support and finally she had me factory reset the quest 2, now I cannot get past setup screen cause the quest 2 is not being detected on bluetooth by my phone. prior to the reset I could see the quest 2 on bluetooth but could not pair to it. now I can't see it at all and cannot get past setup screen. IDK whos idea it was to connect to phone to continue setup but I'm at the point where I think a developer owes me a headset now. It's frustrating taking glasses off to look at the VR screen then put them back on to see my phone or type to support. I am all ears for whatever will rectify this. I'd like to roll back the last 2 updates if at all possible as I believe that's what's caused this to happen. I've eliminated driver issues and everything else. Windows 10 can see the headset prior to factory restore but since those 2 updates quest app says the headset is off when it's not.

I am still on version 56, and tonight, after more than a year of using PCVR via Link CABLE, it stopped working. Could this be a Windows Update that broke the Windows Oculus software? Windows bings when I plug and unplug my quest 2 to it, and Windows has my Quest 2 under "safely remove USB device" in the tray. What gives?
