Rift Audio Driver Issue

Hi everyone, I'm new there.

So here's my issue, I just got the KS reward edition of CV1 and struggled very much with my Etron USB3 Host Controller.
It looks like this crap is preventing me for using any USB3 port for my Rift USB Sensor. (I'm getting a BSOD each time I connect the sensor to a USB3, so I just used regular USB2 instead. Just so you know, it's the Etron EJ168A chip on an ASRock 990FX Extreme3).

Once I got my rift up and running, I had an issue with the sound. Indeed, from time to time I'm hearing random, loud, distorted sounds. I believe it comes from the Rift Audio *device* as it appears no driver is installed after checking in the device manager, shown below:

Sorry it's in french, but you're seeing the question mark icon and it just actually says "Device State: No driver is installed for this device."

So how should I get it working ?
How is the audio transmitted, by HDMI or by USB in which case may the Etron shit fucks everything up ?
Ultimately, do I need to change my motherboard ?

I tried all day to get this settled, the 2 things left are:
  • to make an update to the shady Etron USB3 Host Controller Driver v0.119 from February 2014 which is not even on the official website and not on the ASRock official site either. (I actually got the 0.118 from August 2013 which is the latest update on both Etron and ASRock, still pretty BSOD'ish with my Rift Sensor)
  • to make the few windows update I couldn't have done last week.
I'm doing these this evening, will let you know by tomorrow but I doubt it can fix anything.
Every other driver is up to date (of course graphics drivers are too).
I could give my specs but it don't think it's related other than the MotherBoard/USB3 crap.

Thank you for stopping by, and thank you even more if you can help or even have a hint.

The audio is over USB.

I was getting distortion and artefacts on my audio when using the intel usb 3 ports on my ASRock Z77 Extreme 4.

As it is I already had an add in PCI-E usb card (Renesas) to which I swapped to that and it solved the issues.

Have you tried swapping to other ports?

My RIft audio does have a driver by C Media.

I actually did the update to the 0.119 drivers and did the windows update as well. Still the same, so I'm using the sensor on USB2 and unscrewed the oculus headphones and deactivated them to use my own.

Yeah, I tried swapping on the other one (I only got 2 USB3 ports, which should have been enough), and BSOD each time. There rare cases I didn't have a BSOD, the sensor wasn't even recognized.
I can still play fine, but it's sad. =(

I think I'll get a new motherboard when I'll get the oculus touch.

I had a motherboard with Etron, and I had to buy an add-on card to get it working. It would BSOD on me also.

Just buy an add-on card, this one should work:
