Quick update - I reinstalled all of my Oculus software and have now got all my functions back. Thanks RuneSR2 for your help. Now for a few beers and a few hours in the lovely Rift CV1!

Often it's first when we've lost something that we realize its true value 😉 Great to hear you got it all working! A life without the CV1 would indeed be a less happy one 😁
There's an option to enable or disable Home in the "Settings" tab - if I remember correctly (maybe in the "General" section - but should not be hard to find - also seems you don't need to find it).
Also just to mention it - but after getting a new rig I connected an old drive with about 2TB of Oculus games and apps. I feared I had to reinstall everything - but no, when I added the locations the Meta/Oculus Desktop App simply scanned the location and automatically added the games - I didn't have to reinstall anything, apart from the Oculus Desktop App on the new rig. Just in case you don't know this, might save some hours 😉 Same thing worked with Steam.

Yeah the Oculus app found all my games and apps. Great having the home screen back. Spent a few hours in Skybox watching Bladerunner on the a deckchair on the moon - fantastic. My rig is not as good as yours but it does the job. I also keep a spare rift headset and cable in case this one gives up the ghost - not so far though. Again thanks for the help.

can meta not release a newer software update as this also is happenin with my headset, dont know what has changed in any of the updates but it appears to have broken cv1s
