Does anyone have any fixes for a rift that intermittently disconnects? I will be playing a game, only for the rift to go completely black and a message along the lines of 'The HMD has been disconnected. Closing the client'.It has only started doing this the last two days, but its doing it more often now. i have raised a support ticket
I sent mine back (RMA) UPS this morning for all the same reasons. I had only used the Rift for a few hours over two days before it died and I suspect it was heating up so much that something on the circuit board had become disconnected, maybe the socket where the plug goes into the headset. Maybe there was a batch of CV1's that used a different type of solder or the operative who was checking usability/testing operation longevity took a sickie that day :'( Click on my name to see all the posts about my own fun. Fingers crossed i'll get one of those new working models that most other folk seem to have. It was soo magical and briefly provided the true sense of disbelief that i had wished for (as in the experience you have when you're watching a film or at a theatre) when the Rift worked 🙂

My evidence shows that this issue only occurs after the headset has warmed up, and only when the cable is moved.
I have the same exact issue and results with my own tests. Touching the headset, especially moving the temples up and down causes the disconnects as well for me.
Same here, Warmth of the Oculus Rift makes the head set disconnect.
I wonder if with a new cable will fix this, or if it is actually the head set. I have read in forums that seams to suggest that they have same problems and with new cable they get this fixed.
