Rift Microphone stopped working

So my mic has stopped working in the rift, in fact windows 10 doesn't recognise there is even a mic input device connected at all. 

I thought it was related to the security privacy default for access to the mic being switched off, but when I checked settings mic access it was switched on but I didn't see oculus anywhere on the list of apps there at all. 

I checked sound settings and sure enough no input device detected.

Tried that, doesn't work. 

Just reinstalling home now... then if that doesn't work then I will run C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers\oculus-driver.exe

If that doesn't work then I'm going to install oculus home on my gaming laptop and see if it works there.

if that doesn't work then I have to test the cable by ordering a new cable.

If that doesn't work then I will send my rift back to Oculus and they can fix whatever is wrong with it since it is within warranty.

Fixed it, I had to reinstall the rift from scratch.
