I had used my Rift for several hours today (with the new 1.3.2 update) and when I took a break to eat dinner my power-saving-mode turned my monitor off (unrelated?). I came back, wiggled my mouse to wake up my monitor, but after donning my Rift it stayed dark and wouldn't light-up. I tried a number of things; re-plugging, re-calibrating, disabling/re-enabling USB ports and other devices, re-starting the service, re-booting. Nothing helped.
The headset sensor LED would go from orange to off when covered, and the software would start-up, but it wouldn't turn on/white. I noticed the camera sensor LED also stayed off.
Finally, what worked was to uninstall the Rift software, and then download and re-install it.
Unfortunately, now I'm out 2 weeks of Farlands time (I had 5 globes unlocked!), as apparently EVERYTHING is removed when you uninstall. What happened to politely asking "Would you like to remove all save game data?" like every PC game does nowadays?
Anyway, just a heads-up, and does anyone have a savegame or cheat to put me forward again? You can email me at kideternal at gmail.com.
I constantly get this problem (rift stuck on orange light) after waking Windows from sleep, but what works in my case is going into Home Settings, Beta (why is it under Beta??? 😉 ), Restart Oculus. Sucks that even rebooting did nothing in your case...
