Rift S Controllers Haptics/Vibrations Not Working Properly

InsAnik
Explorer

The controllers for my Rift S suddenly decided their haptics would like to take a hiatus, but only in games and applications. If I open up the Oculus Home Menu or whatever it's called, the haptics work fine. However, in VR games like Beat Saber and others, it does not work. Is this a software issue?

So far, I've tried:

Reconnecting the cables,

Replacing batteries,

Clearing out dust within the battery compartments,

Reconnecting the controllers,

Restarting the computer,

Switching VR Runtimes.

Could anyone help me with my problem? Thanks.

I use Windows 10 if that helps

Hey there, @InsAnik! We'd like to do our best to get your controllers back into the groove of VR, so we popped in to help out! For clarification, when did this issue begin? Had there been any changes to your PC or play setup within that time? Have you noticed anything else with your controllers besides the haptics? Also, can you confirm that your PC meets the requirements to support your connection as listed here? Keep us updated and we can continue from there!

This happened a couple weeks ago and nothing had changed about my pc or play setup when it happened. This is the only thing that has changed with my controllers. My PC fulfills every requirement.

Okay, thank you for letting us know, @InsAnik! Moving forward, we'd like to recommend disabling any VPNs or antivirus that might be running in the background (they can often cause poor connection with the Meta servers), updating your GPU drivers, and, to refresh the desktop app, please use the following steps to repair it:

  1. Download and run the Oculus Installation Software (meta.com/quest/setup/)
  2. You will see a screen which says "Already Installed".
  3. Click the "Repair" option, and confirm again on the next screen.

I am so sorry! I got busy with some work and forgot about the issue. After trying the steps mentioned, the problem persists. If it helps, the bug occurs regardless of if I launch an app through the oculus store or steam. Is there a setting that turns off haptics?

Thanks

Not a problem, @InsAnik; we understand sometimes these things need to get put on the back burner. Not to worry, we are always happy to continue working with our users who need our assistance. With that said, we currently do not have an option to turn the haptic feedback off. While we understand this may not be ideal, we also wanted to share this link. A few of our users encountering the same issue have found a possible temporary fix, so we recommend taking a look to see if the info they have helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns for us, and we'll do our best to assist you further.

I got the same Issue, it is happening since the oculus driver update and possibly a beat saber update, some guys on Reddit already discussed this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/beatsaber/comments/1di36zw/no_haptic_feedback_on_beat_saber_recently/

Is there a way of installing an older oculus driver or meta app to use it again?, i really just play beatsaber nothing else. It would have been best to stop all updates a year ago, this would have saved me a lot of trouble.
It is unplayable for me without haptic feedback.

Hey @BazookaJoe26, I have looked into your issue, sadly you cannot install the older version you need to get updated with the latest version.

We would recommend you to check this link below to get a temporary resolution.
