Rift S sensors can’t track headset

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lengthy post but any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been rocking the oculus rift S for about a year and a half now. Absolutely love it. Recently, I took my CPU out for a cleaning and reapplying of thermal paste. I placed it back and booted up my machine with no issues. Shortly after that, I noticed the headset wasn’t booting up properly. Those three grey dots we all see every once in a while are all that show in my headset. I tried reinstalling the Oculus app multiple times. I’ve tried a fresh install of windows 11 as well as driver updates to no avail. The headset setup never gets past the sensor check now.

My first thought is it has something to do with the recent cleaning. From what I’ve read, taking the CPU out and placing it back in shouldn’t present any issues (assuming I placed the chip correctly in its socket.). That being said, I also connected the Wraith Prism USB cable to my mobo during this recent cleaning. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the stock fan, it has two methods of controlling the lighting. Your classic RGB cable or a USB cable. My thought is that somehow the addition of this USB connection is now interfering with the USB 3.0 connection utilized by the Oculus. I’ve been trying to figure this out on my own, but I figured I’d throw this on here in case any computer savvy individuals had any thoughts on the hardware aspect of my situation. Because at this point, I’m fairly confident it’s not software.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700 x

GPU: AMD Radeon 5700 xt

thanks again everyone!
