Right controller on the fritz

Honored Guest

So I'm having issues with my right hand controller.

It was in working condition and after using it and coming back to it later, there was something wonky going on.  My son plays a lot of gorilla tag and he says out of nowhere it made his left arm look normal and his right arm grew twice as long. When trying to remove the batteries to troubleshoot the controller And see what was wrong It powered down completely. Messing with the battery while in game will occasionally cause the controller to power up but then immediately turns back off causing me to think there's a problem with the connectivity of the battery. I'm hoping it's just the connection points but I won't be able to know until I get the power turned back on and have my son get into a game.

The headset I'm currently using belonged to someone else and I don't necessarily want to factory reset it and lose all of the games and data they are sharing with me... truthfully they are kind of mad at me anyways otherwise I would have already had them help me and reset the headset and put their account back on.

I was hoping to find a workaround of some sort.

Hey @native56, we understand you're having issues with controller connectivity and battery therefore we would suggest you to try these troubleshooting steps as the might help get your issue resolved.

  • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to see clearly, but no direct sunlight
  • Ensure your area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
  • Ensure your area is free of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or polished marble
  • Ensure the tracking cameras are clean
  • If they need to be cleaned, follow the maintenance and care guidelines
  • Ensure your environment is free of any obstructions between the tracking cameras and the controllers
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or controller detection. For example, controller and headset covers, controller attachments, etc.
  • Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds
  • Try replacing the battery with a new one
  • Unpair and pair the controller to the headset

Feel absolutely free to get back to us in case the above steps do not help, we'll be happy to look further into it!
