Router Restarts when using AirLink

cobaltmelon

I have been using AirLink on my Quest 2 since I got it a couple months ago. It works great, low latency, good quality, but the problem is every so often my router just completely restarts when using AirLink. It doesn't any other time, and nothing shows up in my router's logs to suggest anything even happened other than "Internet disconnected". Is there a way to fix this problem? Is it my router? My router seems capable, if not a little old. It is a Netgear R6400. I am using the 5 ghz band and it says everything is compatible and working well when I troubleshoot AirLink.

Hello @cobaltmelon! We'll be delighted to help figure out what's happening with your Airlink connection! We know how it can get annoying constantly being cut off mid-game. First, have you recently changed your play area? And is the router in the same room?

My play area has always been the same when using AirLink. It is in the same room as my router and I am never more than 10 feet from it.

Hey there, @cobaltmelon. Thank you for letting us know that you have not changed the play area and that your router is in the same area. We'd like you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

Have you restarted your router and headset? if not, here is how to do so:

  • With your headset on, hold the power button on the right side of your headset down until you're prompted with a shut-down screen.
  • Select Restart.

Hope this helps! If not, we're happy to provide some extra assistance.

I have restarted my router multiple times since this has happened, multiple times unrelated to this issue, and also the issue itself is causing my router to restart. I also shut down my headset between uses and have restarted it since this has started happening and the problem still occurred.

Hey @cobaltmelon, thanks for clarifying that for us. We're appreciative that you decided to be proactive and already try the factory reset and rebooting your router. If the issue still persists after trying these things, please open a ticket with our Online Support Team so they can guide you through more advanced troubleshooting options!
