[SOLVED]Migrating from Oculus to Meta warning Email

unmatic
Honored Guest

[EDIT: I just had to go to my meta profile top right of website. There is no new 'meta app' to replace the 'oculus app' its all just on the website now.]

So I have just had my second "Log into Oculus Forums with your Oculus account?" Email.

But i have no idea how to actually migrate the account.

I signed into meta which already has my Quest linked to it, which makes it seem like its 'migrated'. But then why did I get the warning email. It says "you won’t be able to reactivate or retrieve anything from the account" which is a bit of a worry.

I can still log into the oculus app, but surely there is a meta app by now that shows all my games etc? I just dont know where to find it.
Can anyone reassure me, or point me in the right direction in terms of actually performing the 'migration'?
Many thanks.
I have until the end of March.

Same problem here.

I received the warning that my Oculus account will be deleted, but when I click on the link "click here to migrate" there is NO TRACE about how to migrate the account.

Also, in my account page I see it labeled as "meta Horizon".

I suspect it's because the mail I used for oculus was different from the mail I used for Facebook.

Hi @unmatic  🙂

I'm a bit confused .....actually the support for Oculus accounts ended already more than a year ago.

In January 2023, we'll end support for Oculus accounts. At that time, you're required to use a Meta account to log in to Meta VR devices. You will not be required to use Facebook to continue using our VR platform. You will be offered the choice to add your Meta account to the same Accounts Centre as your Facebook or Instagram account to enable connected experiences, but this choice is completely up to you.

All Meta Quest devices released in the future will require a Meta account, even if you already have an Oculus account.

So normally your accounts has been migrated already.

Log into your Meta account HERE

Click on the profile pic in the upper right corner, then on Meta horizon profile settings,

on the following page at the left bar click on "orders".

You should be able to see all games you've bought - including those you bought years ago with you Oculus account.

I think, if you can see all your games on your Meta account, you can safely ignore those mails.

I just wonder why you and @Elendil_1 are getting these mails......I don't receive any.

Maybe because I haven't paired it with facebook??

If your Oculus account used a different email, then that account likely still exists separately from your current Meta account. Unmigrated Oculus accounts will be deleted soon, so they’re making every attempt to contact anyone who owns one so they don’t lose any of their old Rift games.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

The point is: apparently there is no way to "migrate" my account. And I receive the email on my facebook email, not on my oculus email... which appears to be migrated already.

It's a mess.

If you’re confident that you aren’t missing anything that you bought on the Oculus Rift store, then I wouldn’t worry about it. An account that you’re already using in the Quest ecosystem is not in danger.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

They told me they will delete my account and I will lose everything on march 26, if I don't migrate it. There is no way to migrate it.

There is no support to contact.

I'm confident it's a mess.

Just look on your Meta account, if you can see all your games with the Meta account......if so, you can't lose anything if they delete the Oculus account

I don't see any game
