Looked at a bunch of other posts and cant solve this issue. My headset was working fine until today where i was forced to get a using a meta account. Since then all i get is a "Facebook Session Expired" error. I've uninstalled Facebook and Oculus apps and reinstalled, no change. I created a new FB account and Linked it but again when i open the Oculus Gear VR app i get that error, rebooted the device, no change, removed all FB accounts from my device (S9+) and added only the new account, no change. My old Oculus account doesn't work as i get a "No network Connection" error there. WTF is up with Meta forcing users into this crap that is rife with issues. And I cant raise a ticket because there is no support option for Gear VR. And I refuse to buy a $400 headset just on principle...My existing one worked just fine until today.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hey @Anyverse! Login issues can definitely take your time away from VR so we'd be glad to lend a hand.
In order to best do so, we'll require some sensitive information. Please feel free to PM us @MetaQuestSupport.
We'll see you there!

Already PM you many weeks ago, still don't have any solution.
No solution, no timeframe, only asked to wait.
No timeframe is ridiculous.

Yep, same here. I was told that …”it appears to only affect a handful of our Gear VR users…”
Although this thread is close to a year old and everyone on here seems to have the exact same issue, there is still no fix anywhere in sight. Seriously, what’s the hold up Meta?

Unfortunately there is still no solution. Just the same old generic reply from support saying that they’ll pass it onto their engineers. But this problem has been reported by lots of people dating back a year ago. Looks as though they have no intention of sorting it out.

If you have no intention of sorting this problem, could you at least be upfront and tell everyone that? Like I’ve previously mentioned, this exact same issue has been going on for nearly a year for some people. @Anyverse made a good suggestion… https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Ideas-of-the-Month/Restore-Samsung-Oculus-Gear-VR-email-login-...

I wrote them a PM 3 months ago. Engineers at a multi-billion dollar company can't solve a login problem? Really ridiculous. Especially since the users themselves have already figured out that the problem is related to the date of account creation. We've just been scammed. It would be nice to publicize the situation, maybe then they would remove the authentication block and let us at least use the device as it is.

And now they've resorted to a new tactic - they've put a ban on sending private messages to my account. Is that how they want to shut me up? I didn't realize a company like this would resort to such pathetic methods.
Just to be clear, I've been writing to them once a month.

The response seems inaccurate since the Samsung VR Video app is different from the Oculus Gear VR app for Samsung. The error is actually relating to signing into Oculus, users encounter a Facebook Session Expired or Network Connection Error this is specific to recent changes made by Meta to how Oculus accounts are created but the issue remains unresolved. Perhaps the Oculus Gear VR app needs an update? The Meta Quest app doesn't encounter these errors. Does that fall under Samsung's domain or Meta?
The Samsung VR video app has a separate issue. When you launch the app it shows an Internet Connection Required error. That is because the web server to confirm the EULA is offline. Copying the related EULA agreed text file to the VR video app will allow the app to continue beyond the Internet Connection Required error. There is already another thread on this forum describing the steps for that.

Howdy @mobilty! The team is always looking to help all users, and would never prevent anyone from getting the assistance they need. It's likely you've hit a safety measure we have in place to avoid the community from receiving any spam. Depending on the amount of posts or PMs created, a safety measure is done where a user is on a "cool down" from posting. I'd recommend waiting 10-15 minutes and then try sending a PM again!
