Looked at a bunch of other posts and cant solve this issue. My headset was working fine until today where i was forced to get a using a meta account. Since then all i get is a "Facebook Session Expired" error. I've uninstalled Facebook and Oculus apps and reinstalled, no change. I created a new FB account and Linked it but again when i open the Oculus Gear VR app i get that error, rebooted the device, no change, removed all FB accounts from my device (S9+) and added only the new account, no change. My old Oculus account doesn't work as i get a "No network Connection" error there. WTF is up with Meta forcing users into this crap that is rife with issues. And I cant raise a ticket because there is no support option for Gear VR. And I refuse to buy a $400 headset just on principle...My existing one worked just fine until today.

That is correct. Meta created literally a metric ton of plastic ewaste to force consumer to buy their latest product. I'm sure if this was brought up to the right authorities meta would lose this case in court of some kind. Judges hate over arching power of tech giants especially ones that are creating this much plastic waste just to make more money. I bet a senator somewhere would love to take this on, bring the zucks back down to DC. Hold em accountable.     Now you'll get some foney response from a nobody or bot asking you direct message them. This is all fake. I started this forum 2 years ago almost. No one gets a response back. It's all a fake. Anyone actually playing mediators on here should be personally sued and at the very least banned from this forum for so many false information and making you send them your personal info.

Yes there is no solution to fix this login as Meta broke the server after forcing an update that requires a login......... Why cant the admin here actually be useful and tell people. Pretending to help people via private messages then not offer any help it just stupid..... Sick of meta and facebook, you cant get help for any issues... Facebook wont even let me use my real name I tried contacting them for year and just gave up.......

Hi there!!! I have been trying to setup a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a Samsung Gear VR for my little kids but no luck. I know the phone and VR are older than a TRex and out of favor, but that's the idea no much losses if the kids take the last breath of them.

So, basically the Gear VR Setup Wizard gets stuck with a message that reads "Failed to Install Samsung Internet".

If you keep tapping on "Install" it shows the download progress and again shows that error message.

Did anyone run into this issue also? Any idea of what to do next?

OR that's what Meta wants you to do and that is exactly why there is no fix. You are now experiencing what millions (seriously millions) of gearVR users are have been and still going through. For well over year almost 2 now.  Meta create literal metric tone of plastic Ewaste.  They have bricked the devices. There have been some hacks here and there with some work arounds but it's a cat and mouse game.  Gearvr.com /r/gearvr subreddit. This forum has thousands of users just like you saying the same thing. Eventually a completely worthless moderator will tell you they are working hard on it and that he understands how frustrating it can be. Then he will ask you to DM the  with your personal info and they'll get right back to you.  Don't do it. It's either a bot or those guys should be popped. They can't help and they are just spreading false information and should be reported as well as giving false hope. Sign my petition maybe with enough signatures and the vast amount of plastic trash they created doing this all on one day those figures alone should get some young go-getter senator to question Metas motives or a another excited lawyers who is looking for an easy win against a tech giant. Justices don't like to see big tech scamming people, taking more than they already do, and on top of filling out landfills with so much plastic waste just to get consumers to buy the next big thing that hey offer in their product line.

You can get past that screen buy doing the unbrick things at gearvr.net but you can not get past the next screen because there is no facebook login server, Meta took server away. I highly doubt you will get it to work. I accidently turned on wifi a few months ago and that was the end of my gearvr.....

Gear VR setup does not detect this even if oculus applications are installed, and also gives a 0.0 mb error because the server is shut down. To fix it, first press the install apps button. If nothing happens, press again. It will either give an error or it will install some applications and give an error like that. After the error, install all applications as apk (available on the apkmirror site) Then go back to setupwizard and check each application. If there are apps that are not ticked but you have installed them all, wait a while. Also, if the tick mark is not painted blue but the application is painted blue and it says 0.0 mb, install that application again. Once all are loaded, Oculus will open. Turn off the internet while Oculus is booting up. Open an app from the Gear VR service. It will open. Then exit the application, install a firewall and turn off the internet of the Gear VR service, gear vr system, gear vr setupwizard, gear vr setupwizardstup applications. Open an app from the Gear VR service. It will open. Then exit the application, install a firewall and turn off the internet of the Gear VR service, gear vr system, gear vr setupwizard, gear vr setupwizardstup applications. And the process is finished.

You mean that samsung gear vr with samsung s7 edge will no longer work? 

Since there was no change on either the software or the occulus side nor upates on the s7 software, is that legal?

So basically you buy a company and then you decide that all products of the company will no longer work...and that we should buy your new product...is that the new norm...? Was that a term that I signed to that i am not aware? Is it legal?
