Looked at a bunch of other posts and cant solve this issue. My headset was working fine until today where i was forced to get a using a meta account. Since then all i get is a "Facebook Session Expired" error. I've uninstalled Facebook and Oculus apps and reinstalled, no change. I created a new FB account and Linked it but again when i open the Oculus Gear VR app i get that error, rebooted the device, no change, removed all FB accounts from my device (S9+) and added only the new account, no change. My old Oculus account doesn't work as i get a "No network Connection" error there. WTF is up with Meta forcing users into this crap that is rife with issues. And I cant raise a ticket because there is no support option for Gear VR. And I refuse to buy a $400 headset just on principle...My existing one worked just fine until today.

I had never used the oculus facebook sign in. I'm very simple.

If I just put my phone in it tells me session expired. I pressed back until I reached the universal menu. I have it set up as a browser with all the media sites bookmarked. 

No oculus, no messing about and the only thing I cant watch is netflix.

 

I felt stupid, I bought one nd couldn't sign in. Oculus told me to speak to samsung. I pressed all the buttons to reboot and found the universal menu.

I opened the internet and signed in to all the media sites-but it wont okay netflix. I just use it as a home theatre and a device to hide away in.

Hold back for 30 seconds and it will beep.

Then you get the universal/back menu.

I ignore oculus sign in  but keep a browser page open on my phone (s10plus) 

I press oculus permission from my phone notifications, it says inswet phone and there is my pretend living room with my browser open and my bookmarks all saved. 

I bought a cable and tried the sideload thing but I can't work it.

Juat hold down back until it beeps. I was going to send mine back until I found this menu.

I have a new Oculus. I downloaded the Oculus app on my Samsung phone and tried to log in using my Facebook account. It shows Facebook session expires. I tried logging out of Facebook. clear the memory of my phone and tried again with the same result. I tried at least 10 time. I also created a  new Facebook account and tried with that still the same message.

Can anyone help, it has been a very frustrating couple of days, of trying to get this thing working.

I have exactly the same sit here.

I tried to send this as a private message but I get this error and can't send it even after I check the message and hit send again:

"Correct the highlighted errors and try again.Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and send the message when you are satisfied."

I was able to use m gear vr with my samsung galaxy s8 up until about 5/1/23. I setup a meta account before end of last year as warned by the app last year and assumed it would keep working. Now when I put my headset on, it tells me to login to oculus app. When I do so with my previous oculus account I get "no network connection error". Now I made a new meta account to try to link with facebook and to write this letter to support. When I login with facebook I get "your fb session has expired or is invalid. please login to fb again." I logged out and back in to FB and still get same error. Please help! This experience is time consuming, irritating and completely souring me on the Meta/FB brand. In my view this is outrageous, it appears you break the abililty to use an older product that still physically works in order for people to buy new stuff from you that is essentially the same technology. This is terrible PR! You are making enemies of many who have pioneered immersive work in VR and have helped spread the word in its early years!
