Gearvr no longer works with any new Samsung phones, from what I understand it only works with s7-s9+

No, S22 does not fit into Gear VR.

Not only that but the gearvr is discontinued from any Samsung s10 and up. 

I plug my s10 but it does nothing. 

Gearvr was great though!
