Hey there, @wolfy.776929! We want to make sure you have a smooth VR gaming experience without any hiccups, such as your headset turning off out of the blue!

Please answer a few questions for us so we can best assist:

  1. Were you able to try any troubleshooting steps so far? If so, please let us know what you were able to try, as we want to avoid any repetition.
  2. Is this happening only when you try to play the one game?

If you haven't done so already, please try rebooting your headset with the instructions here:

  • Make sure the power is fully off and the device is fully charged ( for at least 2 hours)
  • Hold down the volume down and power buttons at the same time until you see a menu
  • On the menu select boot or reboot
  • Highlight boot or reboot (to scroll use the volume up and down buttons)
  • To select this option use the power button to do so
  • This will prompt your device to restart

If you're still facing difficulties, please let us know. We're here to offer additional help if needed!

One thing that can make the headset turn off and on is the face sensor (all Rifts and Quests have one). It's the little smooth bit in the middle between the two lenses.

It might that the sensor is faulty. Or it might be having trouble detecting your skin.

Try sticking something opaque over the sensor (like a bit of tape, blu tack, etc) and see if the headset stays on.
