Sent Quest 3 Headset in for warranty with controllers, ONLY received Headset back... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I sent our Quest 3 Headset in for warranty with our controllers, we ONLY received the Headset back.

We followed the boxing instructions for the headset which stated to remove the batteries before shipping, so I removed the batteries from the controllers and boxed everything up together.

On January 2nd we received our refurbished headset, found out we were missing the controllers. I contacted Support and advised of the missing controllers, i was told that the issue was assigned to a specialist and that I would get an email back with no expected timeline.  No email that this process was happening. After sending a few follow-up chats and an email requesting an update, finally today, 7 days later, i received a response back from the specialist only to have them tell me that they claim I never sent in the controllers and to check around the house, outside and with neighbors to see if they have my controllers.  They only ever issued one tracking number, they already admitted that they only shipped me a headset.  

They closed the ticket, i did reply to it to have it re-opened.... but has anyone else been in this situation where you shipped in your headset with controllers and did not receive the controllers back?  Anyone have any guidance of how to get our controllers back?

it has been 12 days since receiving a refurbished unit and Meta continues to state that they never received our controllers. Has anyone dealt with this before? If so, how have you resolved it?

Day 13 and still no resolution from Meta Customer Support... I continue to contact them every day.
