From what I'm aware, the Samsung Gear VR was sunset about 4 years ago, though apparently it can still run apps available through Google Play.
I believe Meta also released a tutorial on how to Root the device to enable you to run Homebrew on it but can't immediately fund any information about this.
I realise this doesn't directly answer your question but hope it at least gives you a few possible avenue to explore.
