Setup without a phone?

Can I set up and use my Oculus Go without having an Android or Iphone?   I would like to set it up using my computer rather that going out and buying a new phone.  Otherwise, the Oculus is going back.

I feel your pain.   I have the same issue.  Then I ifinally nstalled the app on the phone after giving up all my privacy and then the dam app didn't work anyway.  The app requires a pin and I can't even put a pin in.  Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!   I have sent 4 hours on this!  I still can't use the dam thing!

Good idea.   My app doesn't work on android.

Hey @Andy.777218! We appreciate you letting us know about the experience you are having. This is no fun, and we know it is taking time away from your time in the VR world. We want to help and make sure you do not have this issue any longer. Can you please do the following:

  • Ensure the phone's Bluetooth is turned on and the headset is turned on.

  • Make sure the headset you're using is the admin account and not an additional account.

  • Clear the Bluetooth cache on the phone. (see below)

  • Power cycle the phone and the headset.
    • Power off and then back on again. If you are unable to power off the headset normally, hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Oculus application on the phone.

  • Ensure the phone and headset are connected to the same wireless network.
    • If using a dual-band router, also make sure they are connected to the same band (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz) as well.

  • Try using a different phone.
  • Factory reset the headset.

Clearing the Bluetooth Cache

Bluetooth information may vary from device to device.

On an Android device

  1. Open Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Go to Bluetooth.
  3. Tap on Storage and Clear Cache.

On an iOS device

  1. Open Settings and select Bluetooth.
  2. Forget every Bluetooth device in the My Devices list using the "i" icon.
  3. Restart your iOS device to clear the cache. After restarting, you will be required to re-pair Bluetooth devices again.

Please let us know if this works!

Can Meta change this to you can use your PC or something, Not everybody has a phone, I wasn't born with one, and need one to servive. Come on people, this is crazy, you shouldn't need a phone to setup a stand alone device. It doesn't look too STAND ALONE to me..
