I had a huge issue verifying my adult account and now when either myself or my son change names in WhatsApp it changes it on both accounts! This is NOT on all contacts though, for example:
His mum is saved as her full name on my WhatsApp chat list but on his she is saved as Mum which is as it should be. However my own mum is now saved as Nana in my chat list because he changed it, if I change it back to Mum is changes on his, this also also happening for my work phone.
He has his own mobile number, his own email that was used the set up the device the ONLY link is that I am the parent in charge of his Meta account for his Meta Quest. This didn't happen until I had to do this god awful task of creating and verifying myself and now this. Meta are hands down the worst at developing apps, it's almost like sacking huge numbers of your Dev team will lead to errors...
How do I sort this out, yes it's a minor thing BUT you've linked our accounts which has to be using data somehow and therefore I almost guarantee is breaching GDPR rules by linking 2 people together and allowing changes on each others devices!
As this is an issue directly within WhatsApp, I'm going to recommend reaching out directly to their agents.

Guess what they said? Because it happened when my Meta account was linked to my son's that I need to speak to Meta support... So I'm going round in circles. Frankly I give zero f##ks who sorts it and in my eyes it happened when Meta rolled out that ridiculously flawed and failed parent account for children under 13. It has so many issues (all it takes is one quick search to find the many issues) that I'm not surprised some dev made another **bleep** up and linked WhatsApp for whatever reason.
Okay, if that's the case - you should message Customer Support directly over the forum.
Can you please head to @MetaQuestSupport, then click 'send a message' to PM them. Make sure to include all the information regarding the linking of yours and your sons account, and it'd also be best mentioning that you've been sent here by WhatsApp!
