Software update on Oculus 2

Hi. Apologies if this has been covered a thousand times already, however I am new to the forum. Basically we have had a headset for just under a year. Last week my son attempted to play it and a couple of apps will no longer work. A notification appears saying 'device update in progress, this app requires the latest oculus software version. Please leave your headset on, connected to WiFi and plugged into a power source. Your headset will restart when the update is complete.' We have left the headset plugged in, connected to WiFi numerous times. It doesn't appear to doing any updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee

Hey there @harry.431436! We noticed that you're having some trouble updating your Quest 2. It seems like the update got stuck for some reason. The quickest fix for this is to do a factory reset on your device, which will restore it to its original settings. But don't worry, you won't lose any of your games or apps because they're all saved to your account. All you have to do is redownload them after the setup.

To perform a factory reset using the headset:

1. Turn off your headset.
2. Press and hold the power and volume (-) buttons on your headset at the same time until the boot screen appears.
3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to select "Factory Reset" and press the power button.
4. Use the volume buttons again to select "Yes" and press the power button.

any other way to do it without factory resetting

Hey there @ocaranzaa84, seems like you are also having an issue updating your headset? For best results, we would ask that you double check your headset is connected to the Wi-Fi and then give it the good old reboot, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. If your headset is actively updating we do not recommend following these steps and a factory reset would be the best option. If you are still having issues, let us know and we would love to review what we can!
