One of the issues I've seen a lot of, is the Right (or left) controller not turning on. This issue happened with an Oculus Quest 2 that we bought recently on the used market. I will try to be brief and to the point.
Solution:
Put a piece of tin foil between the positive end of the battery and the controller contact point.
Problem:
The battery compartment has 2 spring-loaded points: the nipple at the top (for the negative batt. contact) and the small round cradle at the bottom (for the positive batt. contact).
Inside the small round cradle at the bottom, there is a metal contact point. On our remote, that metal piece was pushed in, causing a gap that meant no contact to the positive terminal of the battery. This has solved the issue of no power to the controller and/or intermittent loss of connection. This solution may not work if you are only having connection issues.
Hope this helps!

Hey @grazhoper, welcome to the community! Glad to see you chiming in and sharing what worked out for you.
I personally can't recommend the workaround, but I wanted to jump in and note that if that doesn't work, everyone can also private message @MetaQuestSupport for them to look into some warranty options if your batteries don't seem to fit.
