While installing oculussetup.exe on a new computer, things just stopped when I tried to sign into my existing account, my default browser would not open for me to sign in. Scouring online solutions eventually led me to reset all file-types to default apps in Windows setting. Doing this opened Edge when signing into the Oculus Link app. I have another browser set as my default browser but in my previous attempts I did reset the default browser back to Edge, but that wasn't successful, it only worked by changing all file-types to their default apps. Maybe this information could help someone else with a similar problem.
