I own a Quest 2 and a Quest 3. When playing, for example Beat Saber or Walkabout Minigolf, on my Quest 3, there are moments when there´s stuttering (the ball is stuttering like its reprojection, even though the movement of the hands is fine - in Beat Saber the nearer cubes are lagging and aren´t flying fluidly towards me). With my Quest 2 it´s working flawlessly - there´s no stuttering at all. Do I have a faulty unit or is this a common problem because games haven´t been optimized yet - even though the Quest 3 should (in my opinion) handle the old games without problems?

This is beyond frustrating now and I wish Meta would fix it. Breachers was optimized for Quest 3. so it's not a case of waiting for games to be optimized. How do I reach out to Meta support because this is another Quest 3 that will be returned to Amazon if it's not fixed soon?
This is either a problem with Meta's software on the headset, or the way this headset connects to a wireless router. I use an access point router for just the Quest 3, so it shouldn't be a network issue and it isn't on my Pico 4. The stuttering occurs in Breachers when I am moving side to side. As mentioned in a previous post the game starts of alright, but begins to stutter after only a few games.

Are you playing on PCVR? This thread is focused on standalone. If you are playing standalone, then your router is not a factor.
Additionally, the stuttering behavior often mentioned in this thread goes away when recording. If playing standalone, try recording and see if the stuttering stops.

Not sure if it helps but I fixed my stuttering by turning off the 120Hz refresh rate in the Quest 3 settings and also turning the battery saver mode on. This lowers the Refresh rate to 72Hz in standalone mode. I also turned the refresh rate down in the Virtual desktop settings, I have this mostly set to 80Hz or 90Hz depending on the game. For the most part this has fixed both my issues with jitter and stutter in both standalone and PC-VR games.
Not sure if this helps but at the same time I reset my boundaries and deleted the old history. I also used Quest game optimizer, or side Quest and have foveated rendering set to high or medium depending on the game. I think you can change the foveated rendering in the Oculus debug tool too. That 120Hz refresh really does make my Quest 3 stutter like crazy and especially when playing PvP games online. The battery saver mode switched on also helps out a lot for some reason.

Hey, everyone! I wanted to let you all know that I've been working with our engineers about this issue, and we wanted to see if anyone is able to update their headset to the PTC v64.0 that's now available, and to share if you're still seeing staggering in games. It would help a lot if we knew this as well as which app titles were still being affected by this. Let me know whenever you can!

Might be a silly question, but why can't the engineers test a Quest 3 with PTC v64.0? To me, this seems to be why we are having these problems in the first place because the firmware isn't getting properly tested. The Quest 3 is supposed to be a much better device than Quest 2, but anything over a 72Hz fresh rate and my Quest 3 stutters after a while. Given all these problems, I'm reluctant to update to PTC v64. 0 encase another problem crops up and I am waiting months for another fix.

Well for me it’s pretty much every app I use. I would say 90 percent of the games/apps I use have some form of stuttering in them. Walk about mini golf is one of the few that ones fine 99 percent of the time. I stopped playing asgards wrath due to the horrible stuttering

I found this forum due to the fact almost every stand-alone game I play(I don’t have PCVR) I turn left or right in the game and the graphics stutter. No matter what I’ve done to remedy this: Reset headset, cleared boundaries cache, cleared headset cache, and disabled 120hz refresh…I get stuttering in games. It’s always when I’m turning that I notice it, and best when holding a device in your hand like PowerWash Simulator you see a wristwatch device stuttering as you turn, in Ghosts of Tabor pretty much everything on screen including your compass stutters, and recently in Walking Dead Retribution my weapons were stuttering.
Again…I feel like this issue was after the one Oculus update everyone mentioned here before. I never noticed this when I first got the headset 12/2023. And as stated I’ve tried every troubleshooting technique mentioned here. Devs please get this fixed

NOT A SOLUTION - MARKING FOR VISIBILITY
Hey guys! I wanted to let you know that I heard back from our engineers. They're asking everyone that is being affected by this issue to submit bug reports about it, but to also include video recordings and descriptions of the apps and games that are being affected by it. Adding these details can help our engineers narrow down the problem for each app and work on finding a solution so they won't have to experience lagging and stuttering. I know that this is not the answer that we were hoping for since we've been tackling this issue for so long. But hopefully the reports that are made directly to the engineers can help resolve this issue.
