Star Wars Day discount

crimmeny

The star wars games are advertised to have 66% off of the price until May 5th 2024. But whether I check the website the app or via my quest headset they are all showing as full price despite other users in the UK being able to access the discount.

Is there any possibility of this being fixed, there's nothing that suggests that this is a user specific discount.

...... why am I getting emails from meta promoting the Star Wars sale? It’s the same email as my meta account

I assume the mails are sent out automatically to all accounts.

But that's just guessing, I don't know that for sure........so please, don't nail me to that😅

........they give you sales in the beginning to get you hooked on VR

I don't believe that......my account is already a few years old, but that doesn't mean that I don't get any discounts anymore.😁

on May 1st I was sent an email titled "April news: Celebrate Star Wars Day with Meta Quest" from quest@campaigns.meta.com about a 66% off promotion featuring a number of titles.

I followed the link to sale but the apps were not discounted, on my PC, phone app or headset.

I raised this with the WhatsApp team that same day ( Case #redacted). They were unable to help and elevated the case to a further team that also did not help.

I have been following up every day trying to resolve these issues to no avail and now the team has finalised with an email to me saying:-

"This is Clovis from the specialized team of Meta Store Support.

I understand that you were unable to see the promotions. In order to keep our offers fresh, we periodically run promotions for randomly selected customers. It appears as though the promotion you are referring to is not available for you at the time."

So I was never able to buy the games I wanted.

It seems very odd to offer me a promotion and then not discount anything, and finally tell me that they are not available.

I am obviously very annoyed and upset about this whole ordeal.

Offering discounts to a random selection of customers, particularly on a well-known feature day like Star wars day isn't keeping things fresh, it's alienating. It's particularly alienating if you send people an email about a promotion they are not entitled to.

It sounds more like an error that meta are trying to cover up. Badly.

Not to be glib at all, but (sadly) join the club @Zampone . This whole thing has left a very bad taste in my mouth as well. What company in a similar consumer sales position, and of this multinational size operates in the same manner? The "randomly selected customers" policy is a slap in the face to their customers, especially when accompanied by emails which are obviously not targeted to these same "randomly selected customers".

Meta has definitely dropped massively down the list of respected companies in my eyes.
