Steam Link Audio

I recently got a quest 3 with the hopes of playing my pcvr games via quest 3. I immediately noticed that I wasn't getting any sound through my quest 3 from my computer while playing steam link. I've tried all the solutions that I can find (restarting, steam drivers) but I still have not audio. Anyone got a fix?

is the little speaker on the taskbar of your pc set to "headphone Oculus Virtual Audio Device"?

Hey there, @Axalot_! We certainly don't want you to be missing out on the immersive power that PCVR brings! We'd love to get a clearer picture of what may be going on, by asking a couple questions. It would be great if you can answer the following below:

• Does it happen with all the applications, or is it limited to a Steam Link?
  • If it is just one app, the device is likely not at fault. Check for possible issues related to an app/game
• Does it change wherever you move?
  • This could indicate a cable or other hardware-related cause
• Does it happen while you are inside or outside the Link PC VR software?
  • This could indicate there is an issue with the Link PC VR software
• Does another Audio device (Speaker, Headphone, or Microphone) work?
  • This would likely indicate the Quest 3 internal hardware has an issue

It only happens when I use steam link

It doesn't change when I move,

It only happens when I'm inside the software, the sound on the default quest menu works fine,

Yes, the internal speaker and microphone on my quest do work.

Thanks for following up with that additional information, @Axalot_! As these issues are happening within Steam Link, we'd like to first mention that Steam VR is not officially supported. 

Due to this, there is a limit in the troubleshooting we have available. Please give the following steps a try and let us know if the issue is resolved:

1. Ensure the Link PC VR app is setup to Allow Content from unknown sources
2. Restart your PC, close Steam if it opens automatically
3. Launch the Link PC VR app
4. Connect your headset to the PC VR app (Link)
5. Wait 3-5 minutes or until you are in your PC VR Home and see your library
6. Launch Steam, then Steam VR

Im having the same issue except mine worked the first time and never worked again ive tried almost everything and i dont know what to do anymore.

Same here.  worked well for weeks, then suddenly doesn’t work in steam link. 
oculus audio works outside of steam link.

if I turn on audio mirroring it plays on my pc - so the game is sending audio output, it just isn’t playing through steam link.
