Steam VR Lag wired Quest 3

Hello, I recently got a meta quest 3 to play steam vr games like half life alyx and Into the radius. I used to have a quest 2 but upgraded for the quality increase, mind you I have rtx4060 and a i7 14700k so i can run these games no problem. I purchased a different cable which has a extra charging port. With old or new cable i constantly experience very bad lag, stuttering, freezing, and the worst visuals to the point it makes me sick. Ive checked every setting like the resolution both the meta app and steam vr, which are running on auto 100% resolution at 90hz (but the same happens with 75hz or any setting for that matter), and its borderline unplayable at most times. If anyone knows a fix please let me know, or should i just invest in a wireless setup with a access point, i do have a good router and it could work, but i prefer wired for the best quality.

Thank you

Steam VR doesn't run over the USB cable - it's connecting to your PC over your local network, which means it's down to your wifi / access point / router / ethernet situation. Quest Link, when not described as "Air Link", is the tooling that sends the data over your USB cable.

If you're having a bad time on both Steam VR over your wifi and Quest Link over cable, I would probably check for PC performance issues first. Unnecessary background software, overheating causing performance throttling (desktop or laptop?), that sort of thing.

Thanks for the reply, i have a wired ethernet connection to my pc so id expect that to solve all sorts of issues lol, with my quest 2 i never had these issues. As for performance and stuff like that, i seriously doubt it, the only thing that runs during me playing is steam and meta quest app, its also never experienced any overheating and on any game i play its always running very smooth with good temps. I was just playing half life and trying to figure out when the lag issues appear and its rather random, i wasn't doing anything that would disturb performance and it started stuttering and black bordering HARD, and every time i open the steam menu to change settings it would do the same and crash. No idea what honestly causing these issues, should i switch over to wireless?
