obrlo1l5w7qq.jpgFew people like me have the problem that we cannot go through the Room Setup. All sensors / headset / controllers are recognized. Then you have to press one of the trigger button to start tracking the room. But nothing happens!!! I have 3 sensors. Before I got the 3. sensor I had no problems.

Just making sure you got the hmd on your head while doing it as it tracks only while headset is on

I can't setup my SteamVR room as well.  If you figure it out.  Can you let me know?  Just another question.  Doesn't the Oculus Guardian mode still work in SteamVR games?

Guardian does still show in SteamVR apps. If you set up SteamVR as Standing Room Only, then you can just use Guardian instead of Chaperone. However, some games (Hover Junkers, Job Simulator) use the Chaperone bounds to set up the game space, so if you have a large room, it may be desirable to use Chaperone.

The problem with mapping Chaperone seems to be that the headset needs to be active to track the Touch controllers. This has come up in several threads over the past few days, so it must have changed somehow with the release of 1.11. If you cover the proximity sensor in the headset, that should cause SteamVR to see your controllers.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

Yep, I have the same issue. After a few trys, I just set it up as a 360° experience. Hoping for a fix soon.

I was having the same issue, this fixed it. The room setup guide clearly says to hold your headset and walk around with it, while the animation on the screen shows the guy walking around with the headset sitting on a chair. In fact it's neither, putting the headset over my head but pulled up so I wasn't looking in it activated the triggers on my touch controls so I could complete the setup.

Yes, put the HMD on your head so the sensors can see the HMD. I have this darn issue ALL THE TIME.

Also: I found what helps is...rather than retrying a billion times...skip it...then set it up with this part skipped. And then when everything is running, try it again. Then it usually works.

If someone still wondering if it is possible to complete SteamVR Room Setup, I can say yes - it is possible using Virtual Desktop because it has VR passthrough feature. Here is the summary of the steps:

1. In Virtual Desktop on the headset choose "High" (or lower) graphics setting > go to "Streaming" tab > VR passthrough > enabled, go to "Environment" tab and select "Passthrough". Thus you will have no need to put off the headset during all the steps;

2. In Virtual Desktop open your PC's desktop and launch SteamVR Room setup via context menu of the SteamVR tray icon;

3. On the step of defining floor just point your nose closely to the floor and press "Calibrate";

4. On the step of drawing of the room's boundary open Virtual Desktop menu and press "Switch to VR", go through SteamVR guide's instructions.

You are an absolute LIFE SAVER dude, I spent the last 2 hours losing my mind over this, thank you so much.
