Stop monitor from sleeping when removing Oculus Rift from head

Hey, we are in desperate need of help. We have developed a VR tour for the Oculus Rift CV1. The scenario is as following:
A flat screen TV that is mirroring the tour that is shown in the oculus rift, so that people that are walking by can see that it's active.

The problem though, is that whenever a person removes the headset, the TV stops mirroring the application and goes black just as the Oculus Rift. In a previous application they had, the application would run in the background, on the TV even though the headset is removed. The difference is that our application is running through the official Oculus Store. We have tried everything we have found on the internet, like setting the "Run In Background" Checkbox, as well as the "Visible in Background" checkbox in Unity. We have also tried putting a piece of tape on the sensor but that only works for a few minutes before the headset shuts itself off (And is of course a very bad idea).

Are we missing some detail in the Oculus Home App? Another checkbox in Unity? Monitor settings?

Other details:
Unity V.5.5.2f1
Oculus Rift CV1

Thanks for any help in advance,
Dexter
