Storage problem

robbie42

Hi. Thank you for your time. My Oculus quest 2 has a nearly full storage. It indicates to me that the storage is all being taken up by apps. I only have five apps on as I have deleted a few. But the storage only improved a very little bit and it won't let me download new apps because it says the storage is too full. The color of the bar indicates to me that the storage is all being taken up with apps but that's clearly not the case. Any ideas?

Hey there! We know having storage for future games is always a must, so we'd love to take a closer look.

In order to  gain a bit more insight, can you please answer the following:

  1. When was this first noticed?
  2. When you delete an app, does the amount freed match the app storage amount?
  3. Do you have more than 2x the storage required when trying to download another app?
  4. Could you provide a photo of the storage amount?
    • You can cover the proximity sensor to ensure the display stays on. Please be sure the flash is turned off.

We look forward to your update!

I have the same problem. Quest 2 with 60G.  Says it has less than 2G.  the storage bar says I have probably 50G of apps, but when I add up the Gigs for my installed apps, it comes out to maybe 30G. So there is a huge lag

All but one of my installed apps are up to date, so I'm not looking at approx 20G of update data.

I clear cache in my browsers (which seemed to be about 8G but did not result in 8G restored to my storage), removed some other small apps, and right now it says I have a whopping 1.3G.

If you were to ask me the same questions you've asked Robbie42, I'd say: deleting apps does free up some space but not all of it. There is this mystery 20-ish G of storage that is unaccounted for.

Also, note that this under 2G issue has been coming up for a while, so I delete an app and get it above 2G, then when I log on again it says it's under 2G again.

I'm getting to the point where I am cutting into apps I use often so I don't want to delete any more and besides this is a serious problem with upgrading apps too.

Hey @DrDJM! I'm hoping you were able to get things settled by now, but I wanted to check and see if that was the case.

If not, I'd recommend reaching out to @MetaQuestSupport through PMs for some more in-depth assistance.
