The last time I used Oculus was August 27th. After it was prompted that the app needed to be updated, I did the update, and then the rift s couldn't start anymore, it kept stuck at the 3 dots startup screen.
I followed the official and others' tips, and have done the following operations..
· reconnect the usb
· update my graphics card driver
· reinstall oculus
· recover operating system win11 to August 16
· Update all hardware drivers
· Use an independently powered PCI to USB card
But these operations are useless, rift s still can't work properly.
Also, only one rift s usb hub displays in my device manager.I saw some posts saying that it is normal to have 2. I don't know if this is the reason.
I hope I can get your help.
Thank you.

Any updates with this?
I have the same issue and spent hours with support. Tried uninstalling Oculus app, upgrading drivers for video card, CPU etc and got nowhere.
Looking at warranty options now but no resolution as of yet.

I also have the same issue, it started maybe a week or two ago.
I've tried almost every single troubleshooting guide I could find online, but nothing works.

Same issue here, I had not used my Rift S in weeks and ran some updates on the software to be able to use my Quest 2 and now the RIft S won't work. I had this same issue when I first purchased my Rift S and the solution was to roll back the Oculus software. I would try that but I have no access to older versions like I did last time. I hope this is the issue as I see some other posts about this problem recently.

Hi there
I'm having the exact same issue. I was on with support for a few hours tried lots of configurations.
- Repair via the installer
- Driver update via the support folder.
- Tried all my 3.0 USB ports.
No luck at all. Hoping if people make enough noise they will fix the issue.

Hello everyone!
Shout out to @liyi.289743 for making the thread. Thank you for bringing this up.
I see you all having some issues with the Rift S giving you a black screen/3 dots. This could be related to the known issue affecting folks after the Meta accounts rolled out. I didn't just swing by to tell everyone that. I'm actually here to let everyone know that you're not alone and people are sharing some fixes that have worked for them.
Here's the process folks are using to get everything under control when staring down this particular issue:
1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
2. Disconnect your computer from the internet.
3. Backup any necessary content.
• You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
4. Reboot into Safe Mode.
5. Uninstall Oculus PC app using the Control Panel.
6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
• C:\Program Files
7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
• C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
• C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
• C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
• C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
• C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
8. Restart your computer in normal mode.
9. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
10. Install Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here.
11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset.
This walkthrough has shown the best results, give it a shot and see if it works for y'all too!
We've also gone ahead and set up a master thread where people can report their experiences. If this doesn't work for anyone, please pop by and make a post there, as well. Here's the link for it.
To wrap up; Our engineers are aware of the issues that are affecting people, their Meta accounts and their devices. We're hard at work getting everything sorted and expect a solution to be delivered soon. Thank you all for your patience, and please keep an eye out for that official update soon.

I've tried that twice and it still doesn't work. I've spent hours probably trying every single possible fix from both this forum and the oculus subreddit.

A backup followed by a complete uninstall and clean install has been the best tool to fight this particular issue for now, but it's not exactly 100% guaranteed. Apologies if I made it sound that way. Since you've already gone through this twice, no judgement at all if you don't want to do it again. I totally understand that. This is just something that's worked for a few people that I've spoken with today. If you'd like to try it again, the third time could be the charm.
That being said, we're expecting an official update soon. Keep an eye out for that, and if we have a breakthrough or workaround come through before an official announcement comes through, we'll definitely share it with everyone.
