Taiwan's NCC unfairly charges META buyers for wireless review.

Taiwan’s government agency, the National Communications Commission (NCC), began enforcing new regulations at the beginning of this year. As a result, consumers who purchase most products from META are required to pay a fee to the NCC. For example, purchasing a single controller requires a payment of 750 NTD (approximately 23 USD), while purchasing two requires 1,500 NTD, and so on.

The reason given is to review whether the wireless communication technology of the goods complies with regulations. However, this reasoning is akin to a Russian nesting doll of bureaucracy. META’s products have long been available in the Taiwanese market and have already met regulatory requirements. Yet, the NCC still charges consumers a 750 NTD processing fee just to confirm that their purchased goods are indeed compliant META products. This is highly unreasonable.
