Currently, it seems that recording or casting Party audio isn't supported. Initially, I thought this might be due to privacy concerns. However, since most games allow recording of in-game chat without issues, it appears this might be a limitation of the Meta Horizon OS.
If this feature is disabled for privacy reasons, I’d like to propose a potential solution that balances user privacy with functionality. Meta could implement a toggle option allowing users to choose whether their voice is included in recordings or casts. This approach, used effectively by Sony with the PlayStation 4, ensures that those who opt out remain muted in recordings and streams.
It feels like a surprising oversight from a company that pioneered modern social networking, especially given the Quest headsets’ focus on sharing and recording experiences.
I would love to see this feature, which will be especially helpful for content creators.
