The under 13 issues are too many. WAY TOO MANY.

Ok, the issues are so severe.

  1. You can not gift your kid games.  They just don't allow the email to ever arrive.  Yes, no warning nothing they just don't give it to you.  How does this make sense?  I've spent probably close to 2k on kids headsets and games and this is the only one with issues with the 10 year olds account.  Also no there is no spam. 0 spam.
  2. You can not redeem via the mobile app the option to redeem is removed.
  3. You can not redeem via the website it tells you to use the mobile app. Edit: Just for clarity, yes the redemption option via the store is missing and the dedicated redemption page tells you to use the mobile app.
  4. You can not redeem on the headset it tells you to use the website (yes it leads you in a circle).
  5. The only way to redeem codes for a child's account is to wait hours (over 6 hours of dealing with support only 1 person out of 7 was helpful).  Maybe even days if you want to buy any game at any sale.  I have a feeling it won't prevent you from paying full price after attaching a credit card to your child's account.
  6. Most of the support staff don't know what they're doing or what to do.  They spend 10-30 minutes looking at their screen then another 10-30 talking with the people around them.
  7. A lot of staff will ask to see the redemption key for no reason.  This has me concerned.  They ask for them before they even know what to do with them.  So they're just asking for clarification on their lack of understanding of what is happening.
  8. The parent has NO control over who can or can not see the child's account and this is clearly for the European market.  Whatever, but you have every option for parental control restricted to the parent aka they're all greyed out.  So META has parental control over the parent.  You have to ask Meta if it's ok to do X, Y, and Z.  You can not for example have siblings play games together on different headsets.  Even though they could just link up via the local router and hand shake their existence.  No strangers no problems.
  9. Trying to get help requires 3-5 people to answer an email.  They're not able to do it with just one person cause this is how badly trained they are.
  10. I frankly question the legality of this system as is.  This appears to be an attempt to force new users and parents of children who may not be tech-savvy to purchase the games at full value.
  11. Even though help me redeem a code is an option in the help section. They can not help.
  12. This appears to be an issue for most if not the entire year.  Yet no one at Meta has noticed?

I am exhausted from dealing with Meta. I have spent roughly 8-9 hours JUST DEALING with support. This doesn't include dealing with other issues in relation to this issue.

While I'm here bonus issues. The self-refunding system is set up like an amateur did it.

  1. The order forms show date and order number.  Not like a normal place date - time - order number -receipt number and other information.
  2. The receipts and gifts give no order numbers.  So you can't reference them and since the order page doesn't have a time listed you will end up not being able to find an order number due to the lack of information if you purchased say I don't know 3 copies, 10 copies whatever.
  3. Since they just list the games as a name and an order number you have to GUESS which one it is.
  4. So you get:  Demeo - #(order number) - Dec 30, Demeo - #(order number) - Dec 30, Demeo - #(order number) - Dec 30, Demeo - #(order number) - Dec 30, Demeo - #(order number) - Dec 30
  5. So then you go to look at the details it does show a little more but not nothing that would help.  Not who's email you sent it to, if it was redeemed.  Nothing.
  6. When you go to the self refund section there is EVEN LESS INFORMATION.  I don't think it even gives you the order numbers.

How does this exist like this?  Like no one else does this.  Switch, Xbox, PS5, Steam, Epic, GOG.com, I mean no one.  You can't even walk into a local run-down corner store and find a setup this bad.

BONUS BONUS ISSUE:

Let us have a cart man.  You know how hard it is to buy dozens of games one by one.  You know what your bank does when you do this.  My bank was on my butt about this.  I am surprised the police weren't called to ask if I had been kidnapped by a bunch of toddlers who love VR games. "Just cough twice if they have you, sir, we will send the police right over."

Jesus brother.

Just keep close supervision ATM the classification and age rating is all stuffed up atleast on meta worlds and as of now 13+ is able to access atleast nudity and sexual content.
