Threat of suspension emails

I’ve already seen numerous posts regarding this issue.  I started receiving them about a month ago even though we’re on our 2nd Oculus which means we’ve had an account for more than a year.  The device is for my child but when I set up the device I had to use my Facebook credentials since my child does not have Facebook.  I can monitor what my child does just fine the way things are but Meta now wants me to set up a supervised account.  I set up a child account but continued to receive the suspension emails.  Supposedly I can convert the preexisting account to a supervised account (instructions to do so are nowhere to be found), but if I do that all of the previous game data will be lost which I don’t want (my child would be extremely upset).  Has anyone received some instruction as to resolving this mess Meta created?

I’ve exchanged messages with Meta support over the past 2 weeks and they have been completely clueless.  I’m pretty frustrated as I can’t just get rid of the devices altogether and I can’t even get someone on the phone to provide me clear instructions as to how to resolve this satisfactorily.

Change the existing account to match your details.  Do the age verification thing (they want to confirm that admin account on the device belongs to an adult.). All the games will then belong to you, which you can then share with kids in the device (once you create child accounts for them.)

Your child won't have any in-game items after this (those will be on the admin account), and if they are under 13, you won't be able to buy them any game items.

There's no other way of resolving this that I know of.  And yes, the process is awful.

Hi there, @danny2144. We certainly understand the frustration these kinds of account issues can cause. With that being said, user @matt.r.263654 shared some great info, we wanted to share some additional information that might be helpful for this issue. Here is a link that details how to create a youth account as well as how to convert an existing account into a youth account. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns, and we'll take it from there!
