To those who never had issues with their Rift, what motherboard are you using?

I recently built myself a new PC and had some issues using my Rift on it. After a long discussion with support, it was determined that the issue was my motherboard. I asked them for a list of compatible motherboards but they told me to ask here instead.

For those using either the CV1 or Rift S, that never had any issues and didn't need a USB extension card, what motherboard are you using? Thanks.

Update 2020-02-04: MSI Support told me they were aware of the issue and that it should be fixed in the next BIOS update. I will update this post when that happens with the results.

Update 2020-08-18: Switching to Valve Index so I probably won't update this thread ever again, good luck to others with USB issues.

Rift S with an Asus X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wi-Fi. I don't use a USB add-on card, but for my extensions I do use both a powered DP repeater and powered USB hub.

What Mobo do you have and what issues are you having? I'm using an Aorus 7 Wifi board. No issues but it can be finnicky with USB placement if I load up the USB slots with stuff so needing to prioritise is important. G560 Speakers, G29 wheel, Warthog Throttle and stick, Rift and sensors, Razer Keypad Plus keyboard and mouse. I Did have an Asus Sabretooth before that but The VRM's used to get up to 100+ Celcius which soaked over into the CPU socket, so I binned it. By the Way, make sure you plug rift and sensors into USB 3 and disable USB suspend in power options in windows.

MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon (I tried to build a very small gaming rig with no/few compromises in 2017) - it has VR Ready usb ports (Gen1-2, type c too) and SLI, although SLI is not supported in VR - no problems with Valve Index too

MSI X570-A Pro. Issues are controller vibrations or disconnections depending on where the headset is plugged. I already went all the way through support, including full windows reset, testing every port, etc.

I appreciate the answers, I'm in contact with the motherboard manufacturer for the issues I'm having since oculus says it's on their side, if it doesn't pan out I'll have to buy a new motherboard so the answers here are helpful.

The mouse and 1 sensor are on USB 2.0 and the rest on USB 3.0

Set up Rift software July 2017. Never had to re-install  or repair. I run a clean machine, no crap or OTT, all VR via Oculus Store. As my sig says.... 0 Problems (so far)

MSI 250M Mortar (MS-7A69)  I have Rift CV1 and 3 sensors.  My motherboard USB worked, but I have other USB components so I had to get another USB controller, so I got the Inatek card.  I now split Rift ports over the two USB controllers so one controller doesn't have a really heavy load.
